| Sense Data Theory: The sense data theory holds that when we perceive an object, we are directly aware of a mental representation of the object called a sense datum. Sense data are supposed to be private and subjective, and they are not identical to the objects that they represent. There are no two objects: object and date - these are not private items. The dazzle is a property of the spotlight - this is hypothetically, not categorically. >Terminology/Ryle.
